In Minnesota and other States, parents and child care givers should refrain from corporal punishment. In many instances, an angry parent or caregiver can get out of control. Tempers combined with poor judgment can lead to serious personal injuries and psychological damage to a child.

In Minneapolis, Minnesota, it was reported that a 6 year old child was whipped by his mothers boyfriend with an extension cord over and over and over again. The man and the mother have been charged with the crime. This all stemmed from the boy allegedly having bad behavior at school. It was reported that the boy had virtually no skin remaining on his back because of this brutal attack.
