A Spokane Washington child is expected to survive according to authorities despite being subjected to horrible child abuse and neglect. It was previously reported that doctors did not expect this child to survive. Some how, this child found the strength to hold on despite being a victim of flagrant child abuse at the hands of her father according to allegations made by police / prosecutors. Skyelynn Jamison is being treated at Sacred Heart Medical Center. According to Spokane Police, hospital officials are reporting that her condition is improving and she is expecting to survive. While she is surviving, it appears that she has suffered permanent life long injuries. She is on ventilator and is brain dead or has severe brain damage according to court documents. In Fulton County, Georgia, a man pleaded guilty to charges that he pimped out two teenage girls for sex. Jonathan Terry, age 27, was accused of pimping and raping a 14 year old girl from Sandy Springs, Georgia. The Judge sentenced Mr. Terry to 20 years of prison. Mr. Terry will now be registered as a sex offender. The victims reported Mr. Terry’s criminal acts to the police in May 2009.
In Texas, a man was arrested for causing serious personal injuries to a child while he was babysitting the child. Brandon Deon Stewart, age 25, was arrested on criminal charges that he abused a 2 year old girl under his care. Police reported that there were severe liquid burns on the girl on her legs and genital area. There were no details as to how the incident took place or the liquids involved. In Ohio and other States, detectives with a SVU (Special Victims Unit) investigated and arrested a mother and Dayton (Ohio) Public School bus driver on criminal charges of child endangerment. The criminal charges involve allegations that the mother (Kristal Hill – age 33) burned her 4 year old daughter with a spoon that had been heated from a stove. Ms. Hill will be entitled to a criminal defense attorney from the public defender’s office or a private law firm. The 4 year old girl had told different stories of the incident and this may be part of a possible defense of the case by the mother and her attorney.
In Washington, a man pleaded guilty to the rape of a 4 year old girl. How was he caught? What evidence was there against him in the criminal case for the sexual abuse and sexual molestation of this Washington child? Well, it appears that the man posted a video of the heinous crimes on the Internet and thereafter another man reported him to the authorities. Brian Beston, age 36, pleaded guilty to the cirmes of sexual exploitation, child rape, and dealing in child pornography.
In Naperville, Illinois, Jose Luviano was sentenced to 13 years in prison for molesting children in a day care center operated by his wife. It is most disturbing that children were abused and neglected a the very place, a day care center, that the children were supposed to receive care, education, and proper supervision. Mr. Luviano admitted to the allegations and a plea deal was reached with prosecutors regarding the criminal sexual molestation charges.
A most disturbing news story was reported out of Saginaw, Michigan. It was reported that a care giver of a 10 year old girl traded the girl to man for cocaine. Thereafter, the man sexually assaulted the 10 year old girl. The woman (Angela Blackwell) was arrested and the man (Johnnie L. Griffin) is being sought by police. Both face felony charges. Each will be entitled to the defense of a public defender or a private criminal attorney. If the allegations are true and can be proved, prison time will be in order of these defendants.
In Manheim, Pennsylvania, a day care worker has been criminally charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child regarding an incident that took place at the day care center – Small Freys Children Center. A 3 year old girl was placed in a time out. During the time out session, the child kept on turning her head. A day care center worker was not pleased with this conduct and “slammed” the girl’s head against the wall. While placing a child in a brief time out period can be appropriate, slamming the girl’s head against a wall is never appropriate. In fact, police in Pennsylvania have deemed this to be criminal conduct. The incident was witnessed by another day care worker.
