A tragic hit and run accident in Flint, Michigan has ended the life of a teenage mother. According to the police, 17-year-old Kadijah Powell was walking home from a party at Skateland when she was struck and killed by an SUV. The incident occurred near the corner of Coldwater Road and Dort Highway. The police have obtained a surveillance video from three separate area businesses. In addition, detectives are working with local auto dealerships to determine the exact make and model of the vehicle involved. The police expect they will soon be able to locate the person responsible if they do not turn themselves in first.

A pickup truck, pulling a plow behind the truck, struck 4 children while they were crossing a street in Wyoming. The road is near the children’s elementary school, Godfrey Elementary. The children had a half-day of school on the day of the accident and the crossing guard, who was directing traffic at the crosswalk earlier that day, left about fifteen minutes before the terrible incident occurred.

Cassius Walker, an 8-year-old boy of Augusta, Georgia, sustained critical personal injuries after he was struck by a pickup truck while trying to board his school bus. In Colorado Springs and other cities, child pedestrians are at risk in parking lots and roadways. A driver can never know for sure when a child is in a parking lot or attempting to cross a street. As such, drivers should be on alert and drive with care at all times. Of course, school zones, parks, and playgrounds are common areas where one would see a child pedestrian. We all also know that children are in all other areas as well. Drive with due care.
In Atlanta and other busy cities, driver should exercise caution especially when driving through or near crosswalks that children use. WSB Radio reported that a child was hit in a crosswalk by a driver who ran a red light and then kept on driving. Tragically, the driver kept on driving and dragged the 8 year old boy another 100 to 150 feet as the driver fled the scene of the pedestrian / automobile accident. The driver was reported to be Cynthia Parham who was arrested later on various traffic related charges. Ms. Parham will be entitled to defend herself against these traffic / criminal charged through an Atlanta criminal defense attorney or the services or the local public defender’s office.
